- 2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms
- 1 1/2 cups red wine (substitute beef broth and 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, if desired)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 7 cups canned crushed tomatoes (or use canned pureed tomatoes)
